but had left wing elements as well. Nazism rejects core principle of both left and right wing ideologies and goes off the deep end.

This is correct. Nazism has been branded since 1941 as a "far right" ideology. In fact, Nazism began as a leftist ideology and never abandoned its basic left wing principles.

Who branded the Nazis as "far right fascists"? Stalin's Soviet Union started it. They needed to distance themselves from the left wing Nazis and so they branded them as "far right." Academia has played along with that branding since 1941.

American leftists will never abandon their Article of Faith that Nazism is "far right", so, one would be wasting their time trying to argue with the Resident Lib-Idiots of this board regarding this issue.

When you read the writings and principles of the first ten years of Nazi philosophy, it is clear that to call Nazism a "far right" ideology is not accurate.

There is a strategic reason for the American Left to fight hard to keep Nazism branded as "far right". The reason is that this inaccurate branding provides them with a weapon to use against today's Tea Party and other small-government Constitutional Conservatives. The American Left is waging political and informational warfare against Constitutional Conservatives, and, the ability to brand them as "Nazi-like far rightists" is a weapon that is useful to the Left. As such, this weapon will not be abandoned.

Notice how DracSanc came quickly and loaded for bear ready to fight the notion that the Nazis were not "far right"? Very telling. It's amusing, really. Walk into a room of Democrats and make the point that the Nazis were really leftists and watch the fun as they all go ape-shite. Whip out reference after reference of Nazi writings to demonstrate your point, and time it . . . see how fast they accuse you of "cherry-picking."

It's fun!
