I understand the sentiment but imagine what you would do if you were unfortunate enough to live in a nation where girls are routinely forced into prostitution all over the world and boys are routinely forced into doing the bidding of drug cartels. Then imagine that there is a place you can go and not only not face that but also live a much better life in general. Imagine for a moment that you aren’t an American, you don’t have the means to protect your family and you don’t have the support of the state to protect them. It’s wrong as wrong gets to illegally enter the US. But try to imagine the desperation that would drive a person from Central America to the US. Imagine the journey itself....we bitch about TSA lines at the airport....imagine being raped and beaten and ill treated no end for days for the slim chance that you can get into what amounts to a heaven for the living. Considering how many make it the border just imag8ne the numbers that don’t.....those that are killed are kidnapped or simply beaten and robbed to the point they can’t continue. I fully understand that we can’t save the world but we also shouldn’t add to their misery by separating families. A few of those seeking asylum are worthy from a humanitarian perspective. God forbid that we ever see similar conditions in the US but if we do Canada will see formerly middle class Americans crossing illegally in droves. I can only speak for myself but I have been fortunate enough to spend a good bit of time in the area.....Compred to the US they are categorically shitty places to be if you are poor...pretty shitty if you are middle class...even pretty shitty if you are wealthy because it takes a lot of wealth to keep poor peopl at bay. I was never outraged by anything Trump says.....very few of his actions are outrageous to me....I fully understand what kind of person he is.
