It’s certainly not a passage that would make me doubt the inerrancy of scripture.

Its absolutely one that destroys much of scriptural truth.

Its a parable. Not a fact. You cant believe that God cannot face evil if you believe Satan visited him and forced God to change his mind.

My youngest daughter went to seminary with her husband, we discuss this often.

If a person says he really likes being involved in religious threads, but then says,” not another wacko religious thread”, how can this be viewed as anything but contradictory?

Because you're not understanding the distinction with respect to what I said. I enjoy discussing various religious beliefs and the history behind them. The wacko aspect is when someone uses their religious beliefs to assert some sort of condemnation on others, like the OP did with Islam.

You do the same thing with respect to Catholicism by the way.

How do you know what Satan asked for wasn’t God’s will the entire time?

I think many of the RCC’s doctrines are unbiblical. I don’t have any personal animus towards individual Catholics

I know.

That's fine. Do you think they're going to hell?

We can guess, I go by what the bible says.

Job and many old testament stories are parables, not truth.

There is truth in there, but its not literal.

Its man who decided the bible, its inclusions and its infallibility.

I don’t think a Catholic is incapable of having saving faith.

I disagree. I believe it's the incorruptible, infallible Word of God

Nah, man creates religion to explain his relationship to the spiritual. God reveals himself to mankind according to their understanding.

It is man who decided what books of the bible are canon.

There are allegories and parables in the Bible, but Job is spoken of as a real person in both the books of Ezekiel and James.

He very well may have been, but I believe the story was written as a parable.

I cannot reconcile Satan visiting God and convincing him to let him torture a faithful man.

I also cant reconcile God repenting in Genesis.

Christians have been martyred and tortured for their faith throughout history. What makes Job’s suffering unique?

The demons will be able to do signs and wonders in the end times that deceive many. In fact, the Bible says the deception will be so great, even the Elect would have been deceived without the Holy Sprit’s protection.

Yeah, but the devil isnt allowed in heaven to talk to God and convince him to let him torture people.
That goes against many "biblical truths."
