If not why not? Wouldn’t that help to curtail all of the critically ill thereby requiring less hospitalizations and vents???

These meds mentioned aren't a single pill dosage.

It takes 3-6 days to see results, or at least it did in international trials.

I don’t want to butcher the names but it’s the two that are on the polo board that Trump mentioned and tweeted about.

Z-pack and cant remember the other one.

Oh.... didn't know if there were others that have come out or what..

I think they are starting to use them and conduct sort of mini clinical trials at the same time. Looks promising... and hope it is.

I DID see, in the checkout line at Kroger today, they had found a cure. Said so right on the front of the World Weekly News.

Yes they’re being used. I know for sure it’s being used at multiple hospitals in the New Orleans area, and I suspect it’s being used all over the country.

I don’t know if it’s helping, probably too early to say. I’m not sure when they starting using the meds.

Don’t they have minimal side effects? I’m with the OP - what’s the downside?

Let me interject a question. Has anyone given an accurate account of what the current supply of those drugs is? Can they readily be produced?

Hydroxycholoroquine (Plaquenil) + Azithromycin (Zithromax aka Z-pack) appears to be the most promising treatment.

They are pretty popular drugs that have been given out like candy prior to batflu so I expect we have a decent supply (I’m sure that will change though if they do work) and are probably not hard to mass produce.

Not a doctor, but i believe plaquenil is pretty well tolerated by most people if you don’t have heart problems. Even if you don’t, taking both it and zpack for very long can mess up your qt intervals and kill you. It’s not something you want to have to do if your 70+.

Plaquenil is in the National Strategic Reserve. We should have millions of doses on hand immediately.
