WTF? I don't understand how any of the bullshite Senate rules work.
I don't either but shouldn't Cruz understand these rules if he's going to be shooting from both hips?

The Dems just confirmed a 37 y/o whose medical claim to fame is that he completed an internal medicine residency in 2006. They are bragging about this? They are proud of it? It's like the frigging Twilight Zone.
He has an MD from Yale School of Medicine and a MBA in Health Care Management from the Yale School of Business, is the Co Founder of Doctors for America (a healtcare reform think tank of over 15000 members), was an instructor at Harvard Medicine, is the Co founder of TrialNetworks (a cloud based network devoted to helping people find pharmaceutical trials), created the Visions program for AIDS education in the US and India
but dont let facts you could have gotten from wiki interrupt another of your typical and poorly researched posts and pseudo temper tanturm

Who do they blame for doing the opposite of their campaign promises?

We knew the primaries were going to be a bloodbath on the Republican side, but it's looking more and more like Hilary isn't quite the shoo-in we once thought. Now she may just come out and drop the big hammer dick, but it's looking like she may have some challengers from the Left.
There could be some incredible fireworks on both sides come primary season.

Oh brother.
The repubs were trying to run out the clock and rely on a desire to go home last weekend. Harry Reid had said basically, "Welp, looks like you rascally repubs have won on Barry's nominees since nobody's gonna want to come back next week if I extend this session." Cruz makes 'em stay another day and dashes hopes of sugarplum fairies and attending recitals, so it's no big deal for them to stick around for a bit more.
Lost in this discussion is the fact that Harry could have called them all back anyway, and these nominees would have never been confirmed unless the Dems used the nuclear option.

Stop the presses, boosie. I agree with you
But, you know what I say? Let the blood flow. After 8 years of Obama, it is imperative that we elect the right person to, hopefully, right the ship. I am strongly conservative, but I am not a Republican. In fact, I despise Boehner, McConnell, and the rest of those fat-cat bureaucrats almost as much as I hate Obama, Holder, Pelosi, etc.
That's why I have no interest in electing somebody, anybody, just because they have an "R" beside their name. If we elect an establishment Republican who is content to rubber stamp the same old crap, we won't have accomplished anything.
Let the blood flow.

The last thing I want is a prolonged primary fight, but we're going to get one.
I'm ok with the whole "McConnell sucks" argument, I'm just not ok with the "McConnell is no different from Obama" argument, primarily because it is obscenely idiotic.

Thanks to them, we now have at least ten more Obama appointees serving as federal judges for life and a complete radical that's purely political and unqualified as hell serving as Surgeon General.
If you really think that Harry Reid couldn't have gotten these guys confirmed without Cruz/Lee then you are crazy. There is no filibuster for judicial nominees anymore, thanks to the nuclear option. Reid could have called a vote for those nominees at any time.

If you recall, Ted Cruz also led the effort to shut down the government last year. In that instance and in this one, there was no winning play for the GOP...it was only to raise his profile at the expense of the American taxpayer. He raised $1.3 million during the shutdown quarter. What a patriot!
Did you criticize Elizabeth Warren for attempting to shut down the government with her opposition to the continuing resolution?

When Cruz led the fight to defund Obamacare, it did result in a government shutdown. So what?
All of those government employees were paid retroactively for not working. That's incredibly wasteful. And everybody knew it was going to happen...even Cruz. He only did it to raise his profile for 2016.

Meanwhile, I'm secure in knowing that any politician who draws the contempt of "a want" must be doing a lot of things right.

This whole attack on Cruz and Lee is premised on the idea that Reid is a man of his word who can be trusted.
That's it.
That's all.
Harry said he would not do it, but because Cruz/Lee did what they were fricking elected by their constituents to do (their jobs), well...all bets were off then.
It's bullshite.

If you think Cruz is all that is wrong with the GOP you are not too bright.

Well, a want, I notice that you didn't address the core of my response to you, which focused on the object of Cruz's disdain in the first place. Namely, Obamacare.
Let's see what the fallout is next month when the employer mandate is finally implemented. Why has Obama continually postponed this component of his signature legislation? You think that, just maybe, he knows what the fallout is going to be?
Let's wait and see what happens. I surely hope that you will be engaged in the discussion, if and when the bottom falls out regarding this ridiculous piece of legislation WHICH SOLVED NOTHING. We need legislation regarding the cost of quality healthcare, but all Obama did was give us a ridiculous law that only deals with insurance reform.
Stay tuned, a want. The truth about what a terrible pos legislation this was will continue to become clearer and clearer. Who knows? Even you might come to realize what a joke Obamacare is one of these days.

The more liberal idiots they put forward, the more the American public sees democrats as far left loons.
If Cruz or any other Senator wants to make a statement, I don't think the blackmail of nominating bad people should stop them.

Well, the repub leadership DID trust Dingy Harry, or at least hope he'd do what he said. Ted Cruz did something almost unforgivable as a US Senator. He forced a hard vote on a ticklish issue that put many a repub senator between a rock and a hard place, and it could have been easily swept under the rug while swilling eggnog. Man, that's just low down dirty.
I think this is it. No one wanted to take a stand on the issue(s). It's unseemly to make a Senator vote on something other than his/her reelection or salary.
