I cannot stand when someone critiques another, without stating their own stance.

Generally speaking when you have half a dozen or more women all coming forward, I put more weight on their word. Is it possible that even in those situations it's being fabricated? Of course, but it's less likely. Every situation is different and I don't hold one standard for members of my political sports team and another standard for everyone else. And I also don't look to partisan media outlets (of any kind) to confirm to me what I want to hear and then cite those outlets as "proof", either.

Do i believe the Trump accusers? yes. Do I think Trump should resign over it? Probably not, absent actionable criminal charges that could be filed if he weren't president, which I haven't seen. I didn't vote for the guy in the first place so I have no moral choice to make about supporting him.

I met Al Franken in 2004 and he was a dick so I never liked him in the first place and am not shocked he turned out to be slime.

Happy?

For it to come out now is nothing short of miraculous

Why? Sandusky's accusers didn't come out till decades later, either. Was there a political reason for that too? That's standard for these types of cases as the victims tend to feel it would be dangerous for them to come forward when it's happening or for a time after.

I haven't commented much on the Franken situation but it's hard to ignore a bunch of photos of him grabbing titties and, you know, admitting to doing it.

And pardon me if sitting on a traumatic sex assault accusation for forty years, then expertly coming forward in October of his election year arm in arm with Gloria Allred knocks the shine off of your story.

I know if I were sexually harassed by a billionaire, I'd file suit with the quickness, wouldn't you?

I'd argue it's more likely. The timing coupled with the volume and complete lack of any proof screams set up. It was almost as if when the first one didn't stick, they kept finding more until he won and it didn't matter anymore. Then this clown car of accusers suddenly and conveniently ran dry.

Besides, the majority of the accusations were ridiculous tales of incidental tit grazing and unwanted flirting. Many of the stories fell apart under scrutiny. And we now know that Dems are not above paying for fake smear.

There's good reason to have doubt.

More like right when every other fabricated accusation is losing steam. Have to keep negative press on him while they prepare to recycle the currently failing attacks

God forbid they have to cover things like jobs or the economy if they run out of fictitious scandals

you're right, they should be spending a lot more time covering the absolute embarrassment of a tax bill the GOP is ramming through.

Gawd. How many people are going to die this time? We can't have people keeping more of what they earn! And we can't have people who don't pay taxes missing out on a tax break!

Yeah, you're highly intelligent, aren't ya?

it's not a tax cut so much as it is government picking winners and losers and a net tax increase on the middle class.

if you support that then you're an oligarchic statist.

Hey, thanks! I'm an oligarchic statist everyone!

Does that mean I'm still deplorable too? I wouldn't want to lose my Nazi, racist, white nationalist, neocon, alt-right, white supremacist, fascist, and misogynist nametags I've been given by other socialist democrats like you.

I don't think that so much as you don't really understand what the bill does. Re-read my post.

Uhhh, Franken admitted it (partially), and there is a photo.

So yes, the Franken acusations are much more credible.

I voted for the Democrat in LA gov's election over Rep David Vitter, in part due to allegations of sexual misconduct (that had evidence in support of testimony). There, does that make you feel better?

"All told, an analysis of the House bill by the nonpartisan Urban Institute-Brookings Institution Tax Policy Center, found that in 2018, households in the lowest 20 percent of the income spectrum would see an average tax cut worth $60. The next 20 percent would see a cut of $310, and the middle 20 percent would get an average of $830 in savings.

By 2027, these groups would all continue to see cuts, but smaller ones. For instance, the middle quintile would see its cut shrink by more than half, to $360.

Not every taxpayer in those groups would see a cut. But in all the income ranges we cited, and in both years, a clear majority of taxpayers in a given income group would see a decrease, according to the Tax Policy Center analysis." LINK

Corporate income tax goes from 35 to 20%, which is a good thing if you like to work for a living.

Money coming back into the US from tax shelters is only taxed at 12%, which is also a good thing if you like to work for a living.

Believe as you will, but the government confiscating less of the producers money in this country is a good thing.
