She’s honest and hardworking. She’ll probably have a lot of creative ideas.

I’ve been bombarded with her campaign literature, and I had to look up her affiliation. That was a big red flag for me.

I had to dig hard to find out she was a Democrat, but her latest round of campaign material seems to be proud of this fact. She, like JBE, is now running against Jindal. She even bragged out how her district's votes helped elect Edwards and Broome. Not a ringing endorsement if you ask me.

She may be honest in the sense that she doesn’t steal money but she is running a pretty dishonest campaign by trying to disguise her liberal views with platitudes about being hardworking and liking LSU. I am voting for Franklin Foil but I would respect her more if she acknowledged her liberal positions and tried to convince voters why they should support them. That’s how it should work at least in my opinion

Politics is not all black and white. For example, I'm a fiscal conservative and social moderate. Neither party today is either fiscally conservative or socially moderate. You have to prioritize what's important to you, and it doesn't always shake out in the form of an R or a D. Especially in state and local elections. There is nothing moderate about today's Democratic Party. They are becoming hard-core Leftists, and those within the party (the alleged "moderates") like Edwards and Thompson who don't speak out about their party's hard turn to the left are complicit in this country's demise. They are evil and need to be defeated.
It's called "guilt by association," and her money backers are libtards, just like those bankrolling John Bel Edwards.

Your point about a politician now always fitting into one category is valid but does not apply here because Beverly Brooks Thompson advocates liberal positions on both fiscal and social issues. So in this case it actually is black and white. Someone that supports JBE and Broome is not very conflicted about where she stands.

Yeah if anything this undersells it.
If she was running in a democratic district, I would be thrilled if she won. But this is one of the most conservative districts in the state. It will also give republicans a 2/3 majority.
I voted Carter in general, will be voting Foil.

I say this with all due respect to Beverly. I like her. I’m a social (not economic) libtard myself. Beverly is a friendly acquaintance of mine. But I cannot support the Democrat Party, particularly in Louisiana.
Foil is just as good of a person as Beverly is. I have no aversion supporting him, especially bc he won’t be influenced by the same party that gave us Edwin Edwards.
