Assistant City Attorney - Litigator

Business District Advocate

Director Office of Emergency Management

Seattle is subject to a variety of hazards, severe weather, earthquakes, pandemics, large planned events which pose security concerns, the Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is responsible for developing plans, partnerships, training and exercises to minimize the danger and damage to our community caused by those hazards. OEM does this in partnership with the community, working with residents, community-based organizations, schools, hospitals, faith-based groups, and many others in preparing themselves. OEM partners with other City departments, County, State and Federal governments as well as the community to recover from the aftermath of disasters. The City's emergency management program is intended to improve the City's ability to prevent, mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from natural and human-caused disasters through the development of a single, common preparedness vision and strategy. The Office of Emergency Management is the coordinating agency to ensure City-wide compliance with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines relating to emergency preparedness including the adoption of the national incident management system.

At one time I really wanted to relocate out to Seattle, it was vibrant, mindful, and economically fantastic.
30 years later, glad I didn't.

I moved from there in 2015. Enjoyed the city immensely. The people can all go frick themselves.
