No personal stories, but I noticed a bunch of folks jumped on the BLM bandwagon quickly with the whole “blackout” social media thing and such but once the rioting and looting started haven’t mentioned another peep about it. Now whether they woke up, just have short attention spans, or just wanted to go with the flavor of the day, that I don’t know.
They want to show people they care without actually having to do anything. Same thing happened when France had those terrorist attacks, everyone made their little facepage profile pic a France flag.

Because we believe this country was founded on good principles that are worth "conserving". Leftist ideology seeks to fundamentally change what we hold to be basically good and to enact policies that we believe are damaging. We want people to stop seeking to destroy our nation.
That's understandable!
What founding principles have been changed?
I thought conservatives appreciated the diversity of thought/ideas. What policies do you believe are damaging?

Having different ideas, mindsets, ideology, etc etc is great. But people from the left can't even have a conversation anymore. It's a think like I do or I'll call your employer and tell them you are a racist type world out there right now.
That's true for the far-right and far-left, but neither believes they are like that.

Not just the riots but the covid BS as well. One friend from work who wasn’t political and I doubt even voted last time keeps posting to FB about how the dems keep pushing this narrative that’s ruining everybody’s lives. Another friend, black guy, has been defending police and slamming rioters and I’m pretty sure he was kinda liberal before.
Last election at work there were 3 or 4 of us voting for Trump and I think in 3 and a half years I’ve gotten that number up to 15-20. One of our bosses is a huge Trump hating liberal and I think owning her with facts for 3 years in front of everybody has changed some minds at my office at least.

The right to assemble in many democrat controlled cities is reserved only for those that adhere to leftist ideology. BLM protesters are given deferential treatment while church goers are threatened with arrest. Equal protection under the law. Violent rioters are set free and charges dropped in many cases, while the St Louis couple had the hammer dropped on them.
This is morality policing. Just because it isn't enshrined into law yet doesn't mean that the very real threat doesn't exist. The modern progressive has no tolerance for any idea not their own. They hate diversity of thought with a blinding rage.

That's not a change in a founding principle, it's temporary because of the current situation. However, I can understand why you and others feel that way. Were the protesters that marched to go to work in MI arrested?
Do you have proof that the people that were released and charges dropped were actually violent rioters? Do you have evidence? There have been arrests of rioters. There has always been a difference in sentencing for the same crime in this country, but it bothers you now.

This time last year, would you have thought I'd be talking about ethnostates and identifying more and more with Pat Buchanan?

I'm a bleeding heart liberal but the oppression Olympics, demonization of white males, cancel culture, riots, general SJW soy clown world social engineering, and new paternalism of minorities has worn me down to my wits end.
I find Trump to be the human embodiment of a post tailgate natty light beer shite produced by late stage capitalism, but if it comes down to having to vote for him to keep the mob from Zimbabweing white males and further outright discrimination, ill turn my nose and do it.
DNC frickery yet again in anointing an even shittier nominee than 2016 who is barely alive is just the icing on the cake, coupled with this absurd tokenism of the black female VP sweepstakes.
I used to come to the poliboard to lurk and laugh at the hilarious echo chamber of far right takes, and now I find myself agreeing on some of it. Scary shite. Might need a reluctant coat until progressives regain their sanity.
