I donated a ton before the election, but once election week rolled around I stopped. They were begging for money “to stop the steal”. I definitely think the election was stolen, but there is no way to prove that the illegal vote harvesting reached a high enough level that it changed the outcome (it did!), so I felt that the money grubbing after the election was just to rebuild Trumps war chest, and I was ready to move on from Trump if possible.

What you're describing isn't deceptive at all, and is a very common practice. As long as the checkboxes are clearly visible, I'm not sure what the complaint could possibly be.
