quote:I’ll never understand people who complain about the 3rd party candidates, which obviously is usually the libertarians because they’re the most prominent 3rd party. Now there may be a point of frustration where a candidate has to get 50% of the vote or there is a runoff, because with only 2 candidates, someone would have gotten it (even if none of those who voted for the libertarian candidate voted at all). But there is a run-off, while annoying, to settle it anyways.
So the same group that bitches at libertarians for splitting the vote
That aside, it doesn’t make sense in any other election, especially the “stole votes from X candidate). A lot of times people will only vote in that race if say a libertarian is on the ballot. And in the case of libertarians, there are a lot of both right and left-leaning libertarians, so even if they did vote for an R or D candidate, we don’t know how they would vote, but it’s likely that they would be pretty evenly split, at least split enough not to make much of a difference. If anything, I would argue the D candidates suffer more, because the GOP has catered more the libertarians and even had more libertarian candidates themselves (Rand, Amash, Massie), especially with the clear rightward shift with the Mises Caucus taking over the party. So whoever is voting for a libertarian, probably has more left-leaning tendencies that haven’t been catered to.
Regardless, it’s always dumb when people complain about 3rd party candidates “stealing votes.”

Unhinged? That's just typical Trump. LOL. Look at how easily republicans pick up and run with democrat talking points.
Gotta hand it to the dems. Their shite narratives infects most of the country.

I’m not going to say you’re wrong because my opinion is no more right than yours at this point, but I will say that it seems to me you’re underestimating Trump, which is certainly not uncommon. Do remember that Trump even has the benefit of having experienced all this already and then some, and as we would all agree, he’s not exactly a traditionalist when it comes to these things. Just seems to me he’s doing his thing same as always. I definitely wouldn’t do a makeover and adopt a new overall approach if I were him. Hell all these same people here loved that very thing only a short time ago.
Yeah I get this, but I'm guessing you don't really know where Trump is going with this and probably have some doubts right now too. Maybe it leads to something useful, but maybe it ends up being a misguided effort because he's trying a well-worn tactic against a pretty smart guy who has the benefit of 6 years of evidence on how Trump fights his battles.

quote:He shouldn't, the more Trump does this shite and Ron doesn't respond it makes Ron look like a true leader and Trump looks like a whiny scared little bitch
If I were in Ron shoes, I might not respond at all. What does he have to gain? What is Trump trying to gain by jabbing at Ron?

quote:I’m not sure why people are surprised though. Look at the 2015-2016 GOP primary, and the stuff he said about Rand, Cruz, etc. I mean the stuff he said about Cruz’s wife was absurd. Not to mention, he basically accused Cruz’s dad of being part of the JFK assassination plot. He also accused Cruz of stealing the Iowa Caucus, very much like he accused Ds of stealing the 2020 election.
Where does Trump come up with this stuff? DeSantis even mention trump?
So from my POV, Trump has always been this way. It was amusing when he was getting into it with Rosie O’Donnell or giving Robert Pattinson dating advice after his breakup with Kristen Stewart. I used to listen to Don Imus on the radio when Fox Business had it on in the morning in 2013-2014, and I would laugh when Trump was on. I thought he was an entertainer, but when he carried that same personality into the primary and into the presidency, it suddenly became less amusing (he did have a zinger or two from time to time). I probably would like him if he never ran for president.

hard to believe that's real. This kind of stupdity is why people are so turned off by Trump. I appreciate his willingness to take the fight to people, but it's way to early for this. Save it for the democrats. This is just unconstructive.

Agreed, and I did. His obviously fake conversion to Christianity was a step too far for me, it's been evident since day 1 that Christ isn't a part of his life.
