They did such a shite job of fighting in Ethiopia that Ze Germans had to go bail them out. That’s an accomplishment along the lines of any French military failure that gives the whole country shite for 80 years now.

There is a civil war in the country, and the US backs the insurgents. Apparently Samantha Power told staffers to find ways to embarrass the Ethiopian government. We are prepared to send troops.

Eritrea has been separated from Ethiopia since 1993. I don't think it has anything to do with them.
The Tigray region wants independence from Ethiopia which is causing a civil war. That may be a simplistic view.
