The theories don’t hold up when you consider the US (who had been aiding Britain and USSR through lend lease) declared war only on Japan… FDR was clear about not including Germany in the declaration. Hitler took it upon himself a day later.
A war only on Japan would have potentially been devastating for Britain and russia.

FDR wanted the war with Germany. Vast majority of congress and the US populous only wanted to go after the Japanese until Germany declared war.

Correct, but that doesn’t mean the conspiracy theory is right… given he could have asked congress for a declaration of way against both.

Honestly, som of those theories make some sense.
Well, I guess I will have to be "that guy" and honestly I was unaware of this stuff until the History Channel presented much of it at 4 am this morning.

But that just got me to looking into it.
Turns out that We and the British first tried to provoke the Germans.
