I'm calling bullshite.

Something was wrong with something they were projecting so they looked for an excuse to back out.

They aren't changing their minds about something that would be fabulously successful because of some criticism.

I do like the lefty infighting though.

Howard Dean just ate up an NYC anti-amazon politician on CNBC. When the party is that far left of Howard Dean, it's put a hell of a lot of distance between itself and "reasonability".

Like I said in a post yesterday, the Dems have hyper-driven off the rails...2018 just called and was wondering where it's Dem party was it is so bad of late...

Aoc understands nothing. She is Jerry Seinfeld’s bizarro world trump but just as dangerous and limelight seeking.

It simply cannot sustain itself.

Prog techies get soaked with cash, and then use it to influence elections. Yet while their attention is averted, other progs are successfully destroying the source from which they gather their wealth. Karma is a bitch.

Imo, the Establishment Democrats coming out en masse against AOC, with even De Blasio changing his tune in less than 24 hours, tells me one (and possibly two) things:

1) Even though I detest her politics, AOC does appear to be somewhat of an OUTSIDER w/regards to the Democrat Party Establishment. We've seen this movie before, with both Trump and Crazy Bernie. The Establishment of of both parties are basically identical when it comes to independent-minded "true believer" types who can't be easily controlled. Imo, Bernie ended up being a sellout, but I know that Trump is a true outsider and as of now I think AOC basically is, too. The fact that De Blasio flipped on AOC in 24 hours speaks volumes. Old boy got a phone call from somebody (if not a few people).

2) I also wonder about the initial feedback, primarily from New Yorkers, over losing out on a company that would've brought 25 thousand jobs to the area. Except for Far Left kooks, who would've been against this?

I don't know, but it seems like the Democrat Establishment is gunning for their new star.

I don't buy this.

Amazon is Walmart, just over the internet.

Not only do I not believe they would bring 25,000 total jobs to NY, I also believe the average pay per employee would have been a lot closer to minimum wage.

Does anyone think they were going to hire all new executives to staff the HQ anyway? Nah, most of them would have been transfers from other sites.

Of course you'd have had a number of jobs created for what used to be called executive secretaries.

And a lot of people walking at a rapid pace to meet quota in Bezos' new fangled hamster wheel of a work site.

Come on guys. Anyone got an Amazon fulfillment center near them? Those things are notorious for churn. I have literally never heard a single employee or ex-employee with anything good to say about Amazon.

You’re right. It’s now looking like zero jobs. Well done.

I really have no idea what type of jobs would be at this new HQ. Is it just an office, or is there a warehouse? If it's just an office headquarters building, I would think the average pay was going to be a lot higher than minimum wage. Even if they didn't hire new execs and just transferred them in from other locations, those are still high paying jobs that NY wasn't getting to tax before that they would have been able to tax had the deal gone through
