remember when Lisa Murkowski was beaten by the tea party candidate but stayed on the ballot as an independent and won?

I think there is a significant number of demoCrats who don't care for Cortez's brand of socialism

Cortez spars with Crowley

quote:

NEW YORK (AP) — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the insurgent Democrat who beat 10-term congressman Joseph Crowley in a primary last month, is now criticizing him for not getting his name off the ballot in the general election.

Despite his loss in New York’s Democratic primary, Crowley’s name will still be on the ballot as the candidate of the lesser-known Working Families Party in November.

Ocasio-Cortez took to Twitter Thursday to accuse Crowley of purposely staying in the race. “He’s stood me up for all 3 scheduled concession calls,” Ocasio-Cortez wrote. “Now, he’s mounting a 3rd party challenge against me and the Democratic Party.”

This could get good especially if Pelosi and other Crowley congressional buddies get involved and start attacking the socialist.

It's +29 democrat so not likely.

And Crowley has said he has no intention of running. He'll go bank with Goldman or similar.

Re-dos aren't a part of democracy

AO-C is a piece of shite, but sore loser laws make a lot of sense. You lose in the primary you choose to run in you don't get a do over in the General Election.

It's like being beaten in the recall season, losing the conference championship and getting to go tot the BCS game against the opponnent that defeated you already.

If it forces crowley to be a better rep than whats the issue?
Competition makes us all better, and crowley running unopposed for a decade made him complacent. I dont care who wins the election, but we all benefit when reps have to work for their seat.

To be clear, he’s more of a moderate Socialist while she is from the extreme left wing of the Socialist party.

All the primary does is decide who will get the bid from each political party. That really has shite to do with democracy. Anyone eligible should be able to run in the general election.
