Trump's Iran Strategy Backfires
It only gets better from there.
I love how "experts" assume Iran was abiding by the "agreement," when it was crystal clear they were not.
quote:
When President Trump withdrew the United States from the Iran nuclear deal in May 2018, he justified his unilateral action by saying the accord was flawed, in part because the major restrictions on Iran ended after 15 years, when Tehran would be free to produce as much nuclear fuel as it wanted.
But now, instead of buckling to American pressure, Iran declared on Sunday that those restrictions are over — a decade ahead of schedule. Mr. Trump’s gambit has effectively backfired.

Anything to generate scandal fatigue.

Nope, that’s still President Trump.

Effectively backfired
So, did it backfire or not? What is this “effectively” bs? Isn’t that the term pencilneck used before giving his rendition of the Ukrainian phone call when the transcript was already available?

I thought the consensus was they were abiding until the US backed out. Was there some evidence showing otherwise?

The agreement wasn't JUST with the USA. Europe was a "signatory" as well. If I have a multilateral agreement with 5 countries and one backs out, that does not obviate my obligation as to the other 4 countries.

Who entails “the consensus” CNN and WaPo?!?!
If you trust Iran, I guess that those people would believe them...about half the country doesn’t trust. And in theory, if Obama and his team truly “trusted Iran” then why would we have paid them $1.7billion in taxpayer money to not build a nuke? If we “trust them” then what’s wrong with them having nukes?!?!

It’s a little easier to believe they weren’t abiding by it when they announced they weren’t abiding by it.
