Attorney General William Barr announced Wednesday that the Department of Justice is sending federal law enforcement to Kansas City, Missouri to fight a recent surge in violent crime as part of a program dubbed “Operation Legend.” The program is named after 4-year-old LeGend Tallifero, who was killed on June 29 by gunfire in the city, which has seen a 40 percent surge in homicides compared to 2019.

Damn, smells like something's burning in here.

Naw really, to answer your question/thought regarding Berman, I suspect if there's something/anything nefarious to that, Berman himself would let us know....if not directly, indirectly by way of a leak of some sort.

Do you think Berman will leak anything?

KC seems a strange choice. Particularly with no consultation with the mayor.

On-the-ground training for Portland, Seattle, Chicago, NYC, etc?

Juan Williams: Yes, homicides are up sharply but overall crime is flat.

JMO, I don't think he will because I don't think there's anything to leak. I really don't believe Barr/Trump would have made this move if there were anything tangible that could and would eventually come out.

Beyond that, Berman can and perhaps will eventually submit his opinion as to what was behind the move, but it wouldn't be anything other than along the lines of "Mr. Trump thinks I'm a threat due to my aggressive style" etc etc.

I think one of the reasons people are so interested in his termination, is due to the connection some are making between it and the Ghislane Maxwell arrest. I'm in no way saying there is any validity to this claim.

Yeah, I can see the basis for speculation, but I don't see there being anything to that. One way or another any crimes that were committed in connection with that whole situation and are prosecutable in the U.S. will be addressed one way or another. I just don't see a scenario wherein something could or would be covered up that Bermen has direct knowledge of.

Now, if both Bermen and Maxwell turn up dead, something dark could certainly be afoot.

Kansas City almost beat its record of 155 murders with 151 last year.

They’re on track for almost 200 murders this year.

There's no need for a thread, I honestly don't understand the discrepancy here.

If there’s no need for another thread, stfu about it in this thread. This thread is about Kansas City and its incredible rise in murders.
