Yeah, because they didn't want one. Trump continually had to fire people because he kept telling them to get us out and the entire bureaucracy was slow walking it. These weren't all never-Trumpers necessarily, they probably agreed with him on a lot of things, but they still wanted MOAR WAR. I think Miller is FOS here.

If his crystal ball can determine the Trump plan was a ruse and would not work... why couldn't he use it to see the the Biden Admin's plan would be an utter fscking disaster?
Because he's not in Gov't anymore. He was Trump's acting SecDef. Booted when Biden sworn in. Stolen elections have consequences.

The president has no control over state-run elections. Are you retarded?

Who said that? If you can’t provide a quote, then we’ll have to assume it’s the voices in your head

Ah yes, you're one of those folks who doesn't see the national security implications of subverting a Presidential election.
Carry on. May there be many lickable windows in your future today.

Title edited, since way too many folks are misinterpreting Miller's use of "ruse".

You may be absolutely correct. But does is matter if we were completely leaving, or leaving a certain manageable amount of people there? I would rather not be there.
This is all a distraction from the absolute circus mush head is with foreign policy. Trump would NEVER removed the military before removing the civilians. Never.
Do not allow the MSM to change the focus.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I might could be convinced that there was a geo-political advantage to leaving a trip-wire of sorts, large enough that it would be very costly to screw with them but small enough that they're not really "in-country", they're more like an augmentation to the embassy. I think this would satisfy the Americans who want us "out"; they want us out of the countryside, no more patrols, etc. Technically we're never "out" if we have an embassy because we'll have Marines, and I could see using the 2500 as embassy security on steroids. We leave troops all over the world, and I'm not advocating it, but I am saying we could have done the same in Afghanistan and still end the war for all intense and purposes.

Food for thought: DJT had his Defense Dept wargame how to hold off 70k Taliban with 800 SpecOps troops, but he DIDN'T gameplan how to deal with a general election that would be tipped by CCP-intervention?

I don't Trump ever thought they would just shift the numbers in the middle of the night and nobody would do anything about it....

My interpretation of that interview was that the withdrawal date was never going to be a full withdrawal, at the end of which there were zero US MIL personnel in country.
If they drew down to that 800 SpecOps, then those are some hard, pipe-hitting mofos that you'd never know about.
Posted on 8/19/21 at 11:22 am to VoxDawg
The end game seemed to be a two-party system: Afghan Nationals like Republicans, Taliban like Democrats sharing power in gov't and the remaining 800 US spec ops would try to keep them from civil war and work with them to target ISIS types within the country.
