While participating scholars will pause their normal teaching and administrative duties during those two days, they are invited to join a public teach-in on police brutality, racism, white supremacy and other issues over social media channels. Details on just which channels, and when, are forthcoming. Nonacademics are also welcome to participate.

Scholars on union contracts with no-strike clauses are encouraged to “teach to the clock,” or minimize their uncompensated labor, where they fear legal repercussions for striking.

Students in family being personally affected by having classes cancelled, live classes recorded, and other such disruptions.

Students should demand a refund on their tuition for that time.

I plan to contact office of the President (of local univ.) and request a tuition rebate. I'm not holding my breath!

The virtues MUST be signaled. How impactful this will be!

After all, students making social media posts is the only thing that could save our society.

Hell, the students will probably join them. American Higher Education is a sham.

Hell, the students will probably join them. American Higher Education is a damn scam.

You are probably correct maybe the parents should demand a rebate on tuition.

Can they protest student loan debt and the massive increase in the costs to attend a university?

Goes to show they consider themselves nonessential.

In fact, why not have a couple professors do online classes for the whole nation. Put the rest of them out of work.

Should be fired or at a minimum have their pay docked. You strike for something related to your work place (working conditions, salary, benefits, etc). This is nothing more than not showing up to work as scheduled

This kind of hyperbole helps no one, and anyone who speaks like this can’t possibly be taken seriously.

Good excuse to start purging Marxists. You are here to teach a subject, not indoctrinate students. Do politics on your own time Comrades.

There are plenty of good people that would take those jobs and we can clean out the Commies. God I would love to be a Uni President right now.

Students want to show your asses? Expelled! There are others that would love your spots. Come on campus and demonstrate? Arrested and prosecuted. Take them back to 1963.

I wish citizens would have a boycott and prevent them from returning to campus.

The first scene was Jacob Blake, a Black Kenosha, Wis., resident, being shot seven times in the back by a white police officer while his children watched. The second was Kyle Rittenhouse, a white teenager, being allowed to walk past police, long gun in hand, after he allegedly shot three Kenosha protesters, killing two.

Is it just me or are there a few details missing from this narrative?
