Regardless of what you want to hear, it means that Social Securities books are a freakin' mess. The GOV puts people in prison for that.

The acting head of SS resigned yesterday because she knew she would have to, at the very least, explain a few things.

People don't mess up the books unless they are trying to hide something, including their own laziness and ineptitude.

Regardless, even if there is "not one smidgen of corruption" massive numbers should be fired at SS and all the records brought up to date. Nothing but positives for the people of the US will result.

I and my 2 brothers got (obviously went to our mom) benefits but we were kids and our dad died and they quit paying out when we turned 18. The math isn't very clear but 200 million seems like too much.

Great post!

The idiots on this board don’t realize that there are processes in place already to help the government agency’s identify and correct issues.

Elon is a retard and the smooth brains here are too dumb to see it.

Absolutely no reason why those S.S. numbers that are no longer valid should be in their system.

All SSN ever are in their system. Some just don’t have death dates associated with them. Turns out data collection of 100s of millions of data points, over many decades with many of those decades having your primary datasource being exclusively hand written records created across 10’s of thousands of local municipalities and inaccessible through a central database, is not foolproof.

The good news is this was recognized by the SSA and audited by the inspector generals to ensure that payments were not being made illegitimately, and to determine what a feasible solution would be. Not everything government does is some evil conspiracy or complete incompetence.

Administering anything this big (government or otherwise) over many decades is bound to have issues. Fortunately, folks recognized this and there are agencies in place to police these things for, yes the potential for abuse, but also just process improvements as issues come to light that were caused without any malicious intent.

Love it when random internet nobodies insult the intelligence of the world’s richest man. I can only imagine what jclem11 has accomplished in life.

You are forgetting about voter fraud. So there is a real reason they want them to stay on the rolls.

Ding, ding, ding!

This is one of the reasons these numbers need to be purged.

Another reason is to stop illegals from using them to obtain employment, drivers licenses, and whatnot.

They have yet to confirm how much fraud. To this point they are only showing the areas where fraud likely exists and to utmost extent the fraud is possible.

SSI is the biggest scam of all. My wife was a public school teacher for many years and all of the kids got crazy checks, even though none of them were expected to support their family. Basically they “reformed “ welfare and did a bait and switch with SSI.

Seems that all our institutions have credibility issues.

The FBI and CIA both worked with evil Democrats to illegally spy on Trump's campaign and accuse him of colluding with Russia. They cooked up a fake dossier and conspired to interfere in a presidential election, with help from Hillary Clinton. No one is held accountable.

The Biden administration worked with the DOJ, FBI & CIA to put Trump away for years on dumb arse issues. Merrick "the rat" Garland was complicit in all this fake shite.

Now we discover that our agencies like the UDAID and Social Security are spending billions of taxpayer money on bullshite programs. 'And the Demwits are pissed that we are finding all of this waste and fraud. How can any person with even a small glimmer of common sense be against wanting to rid our nation of this plague that seems to be everywhere in D.C?
