This screams give up some of your rights to catch this person.

Austin is a liberal safe haven. It'll be pushed as some right wing loon and pit right vs left as they strip away more rights.

I don't consider it likely but it would not surprise me at all.

ATF HQ @ATFHQ

BREAKING: ATF responded to a reported incident in the 9800 block of Brodie Lane, Austin. It was not a package bomb. An incendiary device was located, one injured. At this time, it does not appear to be related to the #packagebombmurders.

This is fine.

wtf is an incendiary device?

There are incendiary grenades, designed to burn through armor plating and stuff, and cause fires.
a roadside flare might also qualify.

Uses fire for effect rather than blast + shrapnel

ie napalm, white phosphorus

Whoever this is, needs to die. What a fricking chicken shite coward. Killing innocents and wasting Texas tax money playing a little game. When they find this a-hole, a bullet is cheaper than the court system.

Seems premature to say this incendiary package isn't related to the others. Clearly the package bomber guy/team has some competence here. Not a stretch to think both are within the skillset.

Reminds me of the DC sniper

Whose accomplice was released from jail recently.

I recall a segment from their confession in which the accomplice told of an incident in which they fired at a guy tanking up his vehicle at a convenience store. The bullet made a "zipping" sound (best way to describe it) as it missed the guys head by a few inches. Whereupon, the near victim swatted the air as if swatting a bee or a bug. The two snipers had a real laugh over his response. Poor guy never knew how close he came to having his brain splattered all over the back of his car.

Last news I read the accomplice is now a respectable member of society and prolly telling his friends how he beat the system.

He ought to look up O.J.

Anyway, prayers sent up for the people of Austin.

@StephenMilIer

I don't know why I'm the first one to come up with this idea, but isn't it time for the state of Texas to ban the use of bombs?

That will probably piss some people off. LINK

But why would a Hadji choose a tolerate, pro-Muslim, liberal, Mecca (pun intended) like Austin?

The bomb maker could definitely build an incendiary, but I don't think the other way around is necessarily true.

Both ATF and APD seem to be on the same page about this not being connected.

Wonder what it was.

You can't tell me with all of the damn cameras, especially near businesses that they don't have an image of this guy. "At least 11 surveillance camera spotted inside the Brodie Lane FedEx store where two explosive packages were shipped from. The FBI was here for 10+ hours gathering evidence."

Most security systems at stores are not very good for facial recognition unless the person happens to actually walk up and look at the camera, and if the suspect here is wearing something like a hoodie and shades as did the UniBomber a 100 cameras probably wont help.

What a brilliant distraction- having a rudimentary incendiary device attract all this attention and soaking up all this manpower.

Actually, not true. Black serial killers are statistically in line with population percentages.

I handle tragedy with comedy. Don't tell me what is proper and what is not. I laugh to not feel fear. Adding one more I will pray for you will not help anyone.
