Texas isn't electing Talarico, but for God's sakes, Paxton is a horrible candidate. Can't a state as big as Texas come up with two better candidates?

If the GOP believes the people will “never vote for a Dem”, then what would be the GOP’s motivation for coming up with better candidates?

Most corrupt candidate gets the nomination.

Texas is one of those places that's obviously been run pretty well, people are moving there in droves.Talarico is running on "change", Texans, what needs to be changed? Why would you want to shift to the left right now?

The underlying fundamentals that make Texas attractive will exist with or without Cruz, Paxton, Abbott, Cornyn, Patrick.

It’s been 30+ years since Texas went blue. But even a Dem governor like Ann Richards didn’t change the fundamentals decades ago.

Talarico ain't your daddy's Dem, he's a modern Dem, a race grifting, gender hustling, fake Christian. People were moving to Texas because it's still a "proud" American state. Pro business, with a right leaning culture. Talarico would be perfectly fine running in California or Washington State.

And Texas will still be a pro-business, “proud” American state, with a right leaning culture… without that asshat Paxton.

Things can change, especially when you elect someone who's far left to the most powerful position in the state.

Curious, according to the ads I see, he's running on change, and taking back the state from Republicans. What do you suppose he means?

Talafreako is a horrible candidate. He is far too weird, far too socialist, far too open border, far too fake, to pull off a Biden, ie run moderate then govern as a far left socialist…

Texans see how weird, socialist, and fake Talafreako is and will not vote for “ him”…

Talafreako is a terrible candidate…….

I'm hoping you're right. As others have said, it may not be my home state, but a Talarico victory would be terrible for conservatism every.

To me it looks like an anti-corruption campaign.

Not supporting policies that only benefit mega-donors at the expense of everyone else.

I heard the most about lowering healthcare costs and improving public education.

Yu guys are such CHUMPS and FIBBERS boot.

Paxton has already won massively on a STATE WIDE ELECTION, not just on a local level, he's a known entity, and thus he will be the next Sen. It will not be close, you have a soy boy, pervert, wannabe Beto Christian who loves pervs and abortion on demand.

HES LEADING LOLOLOL.

Of course Trump is campaigning for Paxton. You thought that was never going to happen?

People weren't moving there because it was a corrupt state, or because the education was bad, or because the health care costs were too high. Again, Texas could just keep doing what it's been doing, it's working. But I'm not a Texan, although I'm probably politically in line with a lot more Texans than Talarico is.

saw a paxton attack ad. blasting talarico for allowing china to buy up texas land. something like 186,000 acres. i thought it was pretty weak sauce. if that's all paxton has then it ain't looking good

You think that's all Paxton has against Talarico?

Ok.

My earlier point was that people weren’t moving to Texas for John Cornyn or James Paxton either.

They are moving for jobs.

There's zero chance this fruitcake wins.

If by some chance he does, Texas is gone and so is this country. I'm pretty confident that nerd isn't going to win this election in Texas tho. Plenty of other states I wouldn't be so confident about it. This dude is the antithesis to Texas and voters can see through his phony campaign bullshite, driving his rented pickup, choking down BBQ when he is a self avowed vegan, publicly supporting transing kids, publicly claiming Jesus is "non-binary," and pedaling muh white supremacist/white nationalist paranoia.

If Texas votes for that dude, the state is officially cooked.

Yeah, Texas doesn’t have a state income tax and there is no way in hell any Democrat would propose one.

Houston has had Democrat mayors, but there have been no changes in the tax structure or the pro-business development policy of No zoning in Houston.
