What if that snippet was actually referencing the border wall... Da Fence... and they had just spelled it incorrectly?

So the U.S. Military consists of the Army Corps of Engineers and the Seabees. My question is, what's stopping President Trump from allocating $15 billion of that $300 billion to build the southern wall using military bodies to do it?

Calling the military “welfare” is incorrect.

When companies are given money that is “welfare”.

Keeping more of their money is not “welfare” and it is corrosively stupid to call it that.

such a pompous arse.

What exactly do you do for a living "middle class" machine?

Welfare is for people who sit on their arse providing NO SERVICE or BENEFIT for this country. It is to take care of those who REFUSE to take care of themselves.

Clearly, this is not the same, but you are a fricking moron. So carry on.

Because it's a huge undertaking that wouldn't turn out as well as if we allowed the private sector to accomplish and would end up costing significantly more if we required the military to complete due to spending/contracting restraints.

This Budget Raise is shitty.

Trump should freeze the spending or scale back to 3.8-3.5 Trillions year by year.

We are cutting the revenue while over spending. The future will be messy. Look, Zimbabwe is waiting for us.

Because we don’t spend enough on the military already. But if they’re going to throw 300B at something they could have picked worse I guess.

Unlese you think the military personnel are getting a $300B dollar raise, your comment is irrelevant.

That $300B is going straight to military contractors who live off the govt teet.

Most conservatives realize this and want to cut the fat, not engorge it.

Our Military spending already is more than the total of the next 10 countries.
What did we get from the 2nd Gulf war, Afghanistan War, Libya and Syria now? How much do the Asia and EU pay us for our military stations?

Actually defense spending is one of the FEW things the founders expected the newly formed federal government to pay for.

I dont mind it at all. I hate almost everything else we spend money on. I especially hate the ponzi scheme known as social security, free housing, ebt, medicare, medicaid and all those other "entitlements".

I would prefer that the federal government only provide money for the the military, boarder control (Including coast guard), major roads and bridges, food and drug safety and pretty much nothing else. Leave the rest to the states, charities, and churches.

Navy Civil Engineers + Seabees would have that wall built under budget and ahead of schedule...take it to the bank

when your military is already the size of the next 10 largest already, increasing spending is 100% welfare. where do you think the bulk of that is going? pay increase?

Ok, but what does this have to do with the amount? Should there be a limit?

I dont know. Yes we probably spend too much but we as a nation expect to be able to fight and win against any other country.

And there are HUGE wastes of money in every department, especially the things I mentioned. Fraud and waste. People receiving benefits who dont deserve it, or people who receive benefits and have a life style they find permanently acceptable, to the point that they never try to find a job. They think it is fine to sit on their arse and have the taxpayers pay for them to exist.

frick them. Let them starve.

Case in point, Lockheed-Martin's $140 Million/copy of the F-35, which cant do anything it was sold as.

F-16E/F Block 60, which flies circles around an F-35, is $30 Million/Copy...3 new F-16's, plus sustainment costs for the price of 1 F-35 minus sustainment, which the Pentagon recently admitted it cant afford.

how demented do you have to be to call defense spending, one of the few things that is actually the constitutional role of the federal government, welfare. Also, simply taxing our corporations at the same rate as literally every other developed country in the world instead of at twice the rate is corporate welfare? Seriously, be patriotic and kill yourself. You are useless
