I hope the GOP can get this bill on the floor during the heat of the midterm election.

No DEM voted for the original Tax Cut bill, and one of their allegations was that "IT is only TEMPORARY!!!" I heard them use this as their second fall back position after their 'crumbs' and "all for the rich" usual nonsense was laughed at.

Of course they insisted that it BE temporary, but that level of logic never enters their minds.

NOW - the bill is not only more directed towards the middle class, but it also makes the tax cuts PERMANENT - and the DEMs are lined up to oppose THAT.

Their lack of consistency and intellectual acuity will be hard to disguise = and harder to defend.

Hopefully this, and the SCOTUS nomination, will drive some rats from their sinking ship.

So sad to see these working taxpayers gifted another break at the expense of future universal income earners.

What are the details on this bill and why aren’t we hearing much about it? I’ve barely seen anything on it.

Not sure - want more info to come out ASAP.

I just hope the conservatives can get together long enough to put a working bill on the floor.

And have the guts to go after the DEMs who oppose it with vigor.

My hope is they unveil this in time for the vote to come as close to November as possible. Members of Congress running for re-election will have to run on either being willing to allow people to have more of their own money or look like greedy assholes (handing any opponent a huge pile of ammo).

The only downside on this is that spending is still far outpacing revenues. I really hope Trump makes cutting spending a major focus soon. If he were to cut spending and pay down on the debt a bit it would cement him as being one of the most fiscally responsible Presidents in recent history (Clinton paid it down in FY's 98-2000, Bush paid it down in 2001, prior to that there was not even a surplus until you get to FY 1960).

Need to retain the House and get 60 seats in the Senate for this to happen.

Republicans are no more willing to pay down debt than democrats. Don’t get your hopes up.

I’ve been calling for the republicans to push this through for months. Wanna pick up seats in the midterms? Go for the wallets.
