Current betting odds have Trump winning the presidency as a coin flip. Not sure what’s going to happen due to covid-19 but judging by the polls of his response to the outbreak being positive so far I’m surprised how big of an underdog he is to win the popular vote.

Is it really that much of a longshot that Trump wins the popular vote?

We might not see a republican win the popular vote again unless they end up closing the borders.

Even 50/50 with the current propaganda onslaught is amazing. It was never with 10 points of that in 2016.

I put money on Trump to win the EV when his odds were at +140. He was a decent favorite not long ago. It may have been a couple months ago when I last looked and he was at -160 so his odds have trended downward during this shutdown.

Bill Clinton lost the popular vote by 15million and way less people voted when he ran. Just goes to show you the influx of voters to the dem party over the last 20+ years.

I wonder where they are all coming from?

He won the popular vote both times. Trump and GW Bush are the only presidents who lost the popular vote in the 20th century onward.

Who wants to win the popular vote? Hillary won it and look what it did to her.

You have to take into account that the betting books have no idea who Trump's opponent is going to be. Odds are it is going to be someone who did not receive one vote in the primaries. Hard to bet on a fight when you only know one of the boxers in it.

dude he still didn't get over 43%

nothing like the unquestioned popularity you'd think he had

and all of the popular vote difference is in CA like all of the House difference is

CA is a giant tumor on the country

Trump does press conferences just about every day to get all the media attention and take away from Bidet. He's not dumb and is using the platform of the presidency to his advantage. When was the last time you saw Joe Biden on tv?

I think it's working for Trump. The vast majority of Americans see him as a leader right now and that's the first time in his presidency.

Game over.

Clinton won the popular vote in 1992 and 1996 even though he didn't exceed 50% of the vote on either occasion.

Man I thought the American public was dumb when they voted Trump into office, but now it's a coin flip over a sr citizen with Alzheimers, we are screwed as a nation, period.
