Pretty much it says the hockey stick model was unreliable because the proxies used to figure out pre 1850 temp data was proven unreliable because of the deviation from real data in 1990 and on. This throws out the pre 1850 data.
The "divergence problem" begins around 1950.

It isn't the only way to measure temperature in the past. You can throw out the Mann paper if you like, the "hockey stick" is now supported by multiple papers using multiple lines of evidence.

Yet when scientists apply more complex methods of prediction - they are ridiculed . . .
Gasp!
Then, when they take great umbrage at the audacity of being questioned, when they make considerable effort to shut those questioners down, when they manipulate their own data in those efforts, they are ridiculed . . . as they should be.

Your graph is clearly the hokey stick graph that GW advocates love to use, but apparently there are some major issues with it.

By skeptical minds - not by denialists. The denialists simply declare them wrong.

Are you actually referring to anyone in particular or is this just your prejudiced belief, formed after years of reading TD.com posts and other conservative blogs?

It is mostly a myth.
I say only mostly because the divergence problem is well known and nothing that science has denied - and because tree ring proxies aren't the only available proxies. The ratio of O16 to O18 in ice core data, for instance, is a temperature proxy.

Yet when scientists apply more complex methods of prediction - they are ridiculed by denialists like yourself.

spider show mea proxy that lines up with the modern measurements that show the hockey stick graph.
maybe we are the hottest we have been in a couple milinimums but I find it very hard to believe the predictions GW advocates make. Yeah I know it's climate but how often has predictions about weather come accurate. We will survive without much issue.

another thing for me to get concerned about global warming It has to be proved that the medieval warm period never happened and if it did happen that it wasn't that much of an increase and the increase today is much much worse something the earth has seen in millenniums of it's history.
Problem is we have seen 7 periods (to my memory) where the earth has warmed than cooled again going to a long ice age. There seems to be nothing that proves that this is something that will be devastating to the world, that humans are going to cause the worst warming period in the earth's history, and as cosmos seems to implicitly say the earth becoming like a venus.

Funny. I missed an actual substantive response.

These posts are why you guys get cast in a terrible light.
Lying about what scientists are saying, what percentage are saying it and then refusing to respond to quotes from those scientists saying that their work is being mischaracterized is what casts you guys in a bad light.
