I have serious doubts about how contagious it is, as we have been told over and over.
My wife's best friend (whose family are very touchy, huggy type people) had her daughter test positive (got tested because she had recently had sinus surgery and lost sense of taste/smell a couple of weeks later). Her fiance also tested positive with the only symptom being a stuffy/runny nose for a couple of days.
They were all together in close quarters in the same small house for 5 days.
Wife's friend and her husband were negative. All got test result back yesterday.
If it is so easily spread, then why do 2 carriers not practicing any kind of social distancing or any precautions not infect the other 2 people whose space they have been in for 5 days?
The virus is real, the reaction and fear-mongering is all political. This damn virus is less deadly than the flu, per capita, when all is said and done.

The only person I know who got it said she just had what felt like a sinus headache for a few days. Everybody else in her house (4 other people) tested negative. Completely anecdotal because people are definitely getting very sick from this, just find it weird how it varies so much when everybody I know who gets the flu feels horrible for a week.

True story...PHX

There is another thread on the subject of people getting positive WuFlu results from tests they scheduled with CVS minute clinics in Vallejo, CA which they did not actually show up for.

True story - two members of a family I know here in PHX registered online to be tested at a nearby pharmacy the next day. They ended up deciding to not go for the test because curiosity was their only motivation and they didn't want to take the place of someone that really needed to be tested (because of the scary scary surge here in AZ). Four days later they both received emails alerting them to their positive test for COVID-19.

If true they need to get that news out to someone that will do something with it.

I don’t disagree with you.
I’m immunocompromised and would never expect anyone to make accommodations for me.

I was simply offering an explanation as to why your friends/acquaintances likely have not been hit as hard as others about whom you’ve read.

As for when “enough is enough;” unfortunately probably not until we have a vaccine (i.e., like influenza).

I live in Florida

I have land .... to sell you

So does my friend

It’s fairly dry

I tested positive Monday. I got chills and aches Friday night for a few hours.

Saturday morning, I had a runny nose, which gave way to nasal congestion and dry coughing Saturday night.

Sunday was very bad: extreme weakness, fatigue, very lightheaded, headaches, pain moving my eyes, coughing, and easily out of breath.

Monday: lightheadedness gone, weakness mostly gone, not as fatigued, eyes feel much better, coughing decreased, still easily out of breath, and I still have nasal congestion.

I had a scratchy throat for about 5 minutes Saturday, haven’t had a fever, haven’t had a sore throat, and my sense of smell is mostly gone now. So far, I’ve had worse 5-day periods of colds or flu. I had “walking pneumonia” when I was 21, which knocked me out for over a week. It took me a couple of months to walk up stairs without getting out of breath. However, with covid, Sunday was a very, very bad day, mainly because of the eye pain and lightheadedness.

Why did they go in for testing?
Contact tracing most likely.
