So I have many family and friends who have supposedly tested positive for Covid 19. Even a coworker of mine who I work daily with tested positive. Out of all these people, everyone said it was a JOKE! One guy told me the Dr told him to take just go home and take some Theraflu lmao. Why am I constantly hearing and reading about people overloading the hospitals cuz of this sickness. Out of literally 20 people, not one person saying any kind of rough symptoms. We are being PLAYED people

It’s likely those people were neither morbidly obese, diabetic. elderly, infants, pregnant, had cancer/HIV/Hep/heart conditions/COPD/asthma, or were otherwise immunocompromised.

The thing is, hospitals are not overloaded.

So we are being put through all of this for people with these conditions?? Why dont they stay home, lose their job, live their life inside, and wear a mask?? What do you think is the % of America with these conditions? Could the flu not seriously affect people with these conditions? I mean come on, when is enough enough!

I don’t disagree with you.
I’m immunocompromised and would never expect anyone to make accommodations for me.

I was simply offering an explanation as to why your friends/acquaintances likely have not been hit as hard as others about whom you’ve read.

As for when “enough is enough;” unfortunately probably not until we have a vaccine (i.e., like influenza).

Guy next to me in our office was sent home with regular Tylenol lol

I thought he was joking. His plasma is being used as a test at Johns Hopkins which is pretty cool

Are you saying we should move them from the working economy and into a wellfare type situation? this seems like a bad idea.

Out of 20 people it is extremely likely 1 or more had at least one of those

I didn’t say that.
But that’s what the CDC continues to articulate, in terms of their end goal.
It certainly helps some and doesn’t help others.

Roughly 15 of these people work at a Federal Prison that had an "outbreak." So they all had mandatory testing. A few more worked construction where the refinery was told they had a contractor test positive. No one could come back to work without a negative test result. So many of these guys and women were completely fine but were forced to take it because of their job

I have an extended network of friends and acquaintances in the state where I live and finally, after 4 months I can state that I know someone who got this virus. He’s 60, fit, athletic, but probably doesn’t get enough rest and may be borderline hypertensive. Approximately 48 hours of mild, spiking fever and some body ache. No congestion, no cough, no breathing issues. He worked from home for four days, back in his office after that.

True story - two members of a family I know here in PHX registered online to be tested at a nearby pharmacy the next day. They ended up deciding to not go for the test because curiosity was their only motivation and they didn't want to take the place of someone that really needed to be tested (because of the scary scary surge here in AZ). Four days later they both received emails alerting them to their positive test for COVID-19.

THIS! Thanks for sharing! Crazy how bad we are being manipulated these days. At the end of the day, we have no one to blame but ourselves for allowing this to happen. World is going to hell, fast.
