What's the denominator of vaccinated citizens? This thread appears to claim that 78% of Mass is vaccinated. That's 78% of 6.8 million = 5.3 million people. Even if you believed the vaxxes were 95% effective at preventing new infections, that would leave 270K predicted possible breakthrough infections (obviously not in one week, but still).

Are we really surprised that a state where a super majority of the population is vaccinated that we would have breakout cases?

If someone had told you in January that vaccinated people in one state would be getting infected at the rate of several thousand per week, would you have been impressed with the vaccines efficacy?
