I'll bet you one dollar these boys are just back from central/south America rotation.

I'll take your dollar. You are wrong.

No customs on Milair you just fly right in to Bragg. Bringing coke back has been going on since the Reagan Admin.

If you served, it was a long time ago. You have no idea what you are talking about. A simple Google search would improve your awareness.

Although you are technically correct that drugs were trafficked during the 80s, it began much earlier than that and will probably never end. But this is not what you think it is. Based on people I know in 3SFG, my guess is this is probably of a couple of bad eggs rather than a massive trafficking operation.

"The sky is falling" about the military from a bunch of civilians is laughable. The Biden policies are not great for the military or the country. Morale is lower than before, but there are many factors for that, including the end of GWOT.

This isn’t necessarily green berets, there are more support staff / “soldiers” than there are operators.

As several have eluded to one of the big issues with drugs, alcohol, and morale at Bragg is being in Fayettenam. Not a lot besides strip clubs and tattoo parlors, since NC has ABC stores there were fewer of them close to base but it is still a whole lot of nothing. The talent pool for prospective dependapotomuses was small (the pool not the depedapotomuses themselves). The list of off-limits areas was seemingly half the town. While it is true with most bases almost all my disciplinary issues with the enlisted troops was alcohol or drug related and that was ~30 years ago.

In retrospect I'm glad I didn't go to Bragg first having had a few years in. It was a stark difference how things were coming from Korea.

RDU is a daytrip from Bragg if you actually wanted something to do. The Merc was trashy, Bragg Blvd was trashier. I remember when a second Walmart was built because the Skibo Road Walmart was probably more crowded than the one in Hammond. Def Leopard had a concert for the grand opening at that one. Fayetteville was the saddest and trashiest town outside a military base ever and I've been to Hinesville and Leesville.

Victory punch is nothing more than generic government Gatorade. It's got electrolytes, it's what soldiers crave.

I'm a POG and did a co-ed basic. It was the girl whose face looked like a plate of scrambled eggs that killed it for me.
