Exactly. Those of us in Hammond will happily be paying our bills while the liberals keep sky screaming.

You’re going to be happy you’re paying more or you’re going to be happy other people are paying more?
First one is insane and the other isn’t particularly relevant, but still curious.

I'm not getting subsidies, so I am already paying more because of Obamacare. I won't be paying more in January due to whatever is going on with the US government.

Yes they could. Simply vote yes for the CR instead of No like they have done a dozen times now.

Really should be careful generalizing everyone into one category
But there is a reason military hospitals use so many civilian physicians and nurses. The government is terrible at everything, and if you think tri-care sucks, imagine them trying to form a network of providers to care for service members/families. It may not happen this go-round, but there will eventually be an exodus of these providers who are willing to work without pay to serve those who are still getting paid. I would imagine that this will end soon, but getting a $0 paystub is a reminder of the government’s priorities.
They are not on vacation and have not taken these jobs to be on the government ‘tit’. After 10 years of training and a couple hundred thousand dollars, it is insulting to be called a leech, when they go to work everyday and are loyal to their mission statement. I know their patients do not feel this way.

Yes, that is my understanding. What would otherwise be furloughs become permanent job/department cuts.

5 more senate dems are the only people that can reopen the government.

I don’t think a lot of people understand that it doesn’t just have an effect on the useless ‘on the government tit’ people… I voted for trump every single time, I work my arse off because I LOVE my career and the people I work around, and I have NEVER worked from home
This shite needs to end. frick the democrats
