I agree. They need people to clean up after the leftist mobs in the big cities and are gonna need more to clean up after them when they hold the DNC convention. And needles and so forth can be a nasty job but who is more qualified. I cringe at the good help that had to cleanup after the ex-mayor of Tallahassee and rising dem presidential candidate and his male models in Florida.

How do you get from protection of property to worship of that property?

Wait a minute... He’s trying to destroy my life, my family’s life, and millions of American’s lives. Why should anyone - yourself included - feel bad for him and his lot? Why is 10 years in prison, for essentially amounts to sedition or treason, too tough of a penalty?

I think we should round them all up and ship their communist asses to North Korea. There they can enjoy all that it has to offer and all the injustice of America can be forgotten.

They made a conscious decision to violate the federal/state law. It wasn't an accident to do that and there should be repercussions.

If they did the crime there is time involved.

And therein lies the problem. Too many lazy prosecutors who cut deals instead of going to trial and putting hardened criminals away for good. Isn't it ironic that if justice were administered as it should be, George Floyd would have been incarcerated for his multiple felonies and not getting murdered on a Minneapolis street.

Amen brother. However, I would prefer they do time in one of their a Socialist utopias rather than a jail cell in the U.S. that we’ve gotta pay for. Venezuela or Cuba are nearby and North Korea is always looking for more worker comrades.

We need an exchange program with Mexico. We send our trash while their trash resides in what seems to be the Hilton US prisons.

You know those guys have it a lot better in US Prisons than the prisons back home. Worth crossing the Rio for ...

They likely won’t get anywhere near 10 years, but the word is out about the potential of getting 10 years. That alone will reduce the attempts to topple and/or defacing the statues, which was really getting out of control.

These skinny antifa pussies wouldn't last 15 minutes in prison. They would be punked out as soon as they walk in. Tyrone would have everyone of them wearing daisy dukes.

Wow I expected this to be a bit unpopular for this board but didn’t expect this harsh outburst

Defacing a statue that was paid for involuntarily by the public, not any one person. The proper route would be to just sell these statues to private collectors or museums. Seems kind of silly to spend our money erecting and maintaining shrines of fallible human beings.

I agree with you but it sets the stage to either stop or prison for a decade. Actions now have consequences.

You don't get it. It isn't just destruction of property. It is a crime against society.

Technically every crime is a crime against society, i.e. the reason for "The State of xyz vs ..." or "The United States vs ..." etc etc rather than "individual victim vs ...". But I believe I get your point. It can also be looked at from the viewpoint of destruction of or damage to a famous and historic one-of-a-kind work of art, or something along those lines. There's just more "gravity" to the situation. Another distinct situation could be a person destroying 50 vehicles at a new car dealership, as opposed to the gravity of a person destroying one or two new vehicles.

These statues are priceless and worth far more than everything you own. Let's say these protesters burn everything you own. Should they get 1 or 2 weeks? Their destruction of your own property would justify lesser time in jail versus a priceless statue that belongs to "WE the People".
What should their time in jail be if they burn down someone's place of business?
