GTA5 tips/suggestions

I just bought gta5 a few days and due to my work schedule right now I dont have much time to invest into the story. What are some fun things to do in free roam? What other quick ways can I earn money besides robbing liquor stores and armored trucks (which I have yet to find and to rob). How can I find them?

I have one mission remaining in the game and I didn't know you could rob liquor stores.

You can rob both liquor and gas stations, I think.

I just unlocked Trevor last night. Have yet to do any missions for Michael / Franklin that earned any money, which is disappointing after 3+ hours of play. They are "laying low" after the first heist, but I'd rather play them than Trevor. Trevor started with a lot of money.
There is so much to do my head is kind of spinning. I'd love to rob trucks but I've never seen one. I'm like a dog chasing cars, I do one thing for 3 minutes then something else comes up and I run to do that.
I have no tips, just sharing experiences. The only tip I have so far is "enjoy the ride"

That sums up my experience 36% through. I'm way to add for this game

I just focus on doing one thing or several things in parallel. For example, last night I worked on getting everyone's shooting skill up to 100% by getting golds at the shooting range. Now, I am working on getting everyone's stamina up by running triathlons. Once, I have that, I plan to work on strength by playing Tennis, Golf, and Darts.

Listen to clues on radio news stories and certain mission phone calls for stock market buys. I've completed only 25% of the game and made more than 2 million on stock market.

You can rob gun stores by shooting the doors open and shooting the attendant. Then go in and shoot the cashiers. Easy money

Hmmm I did the diamond heist and took about 4 million from the store. After one of my crew went down and lost about 400k and that Mexican dude for his 2.5 mil for me ripping his house down, I still had like 450k per person
You didn't get any money for the diamond heist?

You didn't get any money for the diamond heist?
I can't play Franklin and Michael right now because they are "laying low". Trevor is a good distraction but I like Michael's character a lot and want to play him more

Shoot the back door. Aim for the middle by the handles, it pops open relatively easily.
