String Bell vs. Wallace for the Oscar? Word is Idris Elba might get nominated for his "Mandela" movie that comes out later this year...However, the real surprise..

IMDB movie boards have been mentioning Michael B. Jordan (guy who played Wallace) getting oscar buzz for this movie "Fruitvale Station". Currently has a 91% on Rottentomatoes.

Powerful and disturbing.Michael B. Jordan is brilliant. It shows us we can't change the past but with movies like this perhaps we can make a better future.

Fruitvale Station is a gut punch of a movie. By standing in solidarity with Oscar, it becomes an unstoppable cinematic force.

When I read this I was thinking there was no way Elba was getting nominated for Pacific Rim. Didn't know about the Mandela movie.

But yeah, Fruitvale Station looks great although I am sick of seeing the commercial during the Zimmerman trial.

I read about Jordan's movie in EW. While I like the actor, I'm sure the movie is going to be heavy handed with Travyon type influence so I will pass.

It is based on a real life event that was video taped.

Still, I'm sure they are going to paint all white people as the devil. Keamy from Lost is the cop that kills him btw.

Yeah, the Oscar Grant story is fricked up. I still don't understand why the cop just didn't taze him if he was resisting. Their is no possible reason to shoot him even if he was armed which he wasn't. I mean their was another cop already holding him down when he shot him in the back, they clearly had him restrained.

But yeah this movie looks great and Michael B. Jordan is awesome.

He's rumored to be Johnny Storm in F4 too.

Eh. Idk about that.

The movie supposedly doesnt make Oscar a "Hero" just a regular guy. Shows his flaws and all. Just a guy who got caught up in a terrible situation.

I dont think/at least dont hope that the movie beats it over our head how evil the guy was. Most reviews I've read said everything was at least made to seem "realistic"

Let me guess, the movie makes a convicted drug dealer who sold to kids look like an angel?

Planning on going to see this tomorrow...it finally came to a theater around here. I've read good things about it online, and I'm a big Michael B. Jordan fan from his previous TV work.
