After dominating Phillies aces Cole Hamels and Roy Halladay, our first place Atlanta Braves send ace in the making, Kris Medlen (R) out to face Cliff Lee (L)
Braves Lineup
1. Andrelton Simmons (R) SS
2. Jason Heyward (L) RF
3. Justin Upton (R) LF
4. Freddie Freeman (L) 1B
5. B.J. Upton (R) CF
6. Dan Uggla (R) 2B
7. Chris Johnson (R) 3B
8. Gerald Laird (R) C
9. Kris Medlen (S) P
Phillies Lineup
1. Ben Revere (L) CF
2. Jimmy Rollins (S) SS
3. Chase Utley (L) 2B
4. Ryan Howard (L) 1B
5. Michael Young (R) 3B
6. Domonic Brown (L) LF
7. Laynce Nix (L) RF
8. Erik Kratz (R) C
9. Cliff Lee (L) P
The Braves have not lost a regular season game started by Medlen in close to 3 years, but we all remember his last start against the Cards where he gave up 5 runs, only 2 earned, in 6 and 1/3.
After a disappointing spring, Medlen looks to start his season off by finishing a sweep of the hated Phillies.
Some early season stats:
Braves have scored 16 runs and have given up 7 in 2 games (Avg score of 8-3.5)
The Braves lead the league in slugging percentage at .621
The Braves are hitting .288 (19 for 66) with 4 doubles, 6 HRs, 15 RBI, 9 walks, and 24 strikeouts
In 2 games, the Braves have hit into one double play, by Reed Johnson in his first and only AB of the season
Freddie Freeman is hitting a league leading .714 (5 of 7) with a HR, a 2B, and 6 RBI (also league leading) along with 1 walk. He has 9 total bases
The biggest (money wise) acquisition of the winter, B.J. Upton is hitting .000 (0 for 8) with 5 strikeouts
His brother, Justin Upton is hitting .286 (2 for 7) but has an OBP of .444 due to his 2 walks. He also has 2 HRs in 2 games, with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored.
Dan Uggla is, not surprisingly, hitting an even .200 (1 for 5) with 2 strikeouts, but has continued his walking ways with 3 BB, and has also hit 1 HR, and scored 2 runs with 1 RBI.
Of course, my favorite stat is Andrelton Simmons. He has a .333 average (3 for 9) with 1 double, 0 walks and 2 strikeouts and has scored every time he has been on base.

If we sweep Hamels, Halladay, and Lee I will bring back Homer the Brave from back when he was a racist Indian and not a baseball-headed goober and personally fap him myself
