There have been multiple references in threads on several different TD boards to rumors about Hamilton declaring for the draft. I thought a thread dedicated to the topic was in order.

Has anyone seen anything official?

Anyone heard when an official announcement could be forthcoming?

I think he would be making a huge mistake turning pro this year. He basically disappeared in the back half of this season. He needs to get bigger and stronger

If he's leaving its with expectations of going to play in Europe. The fact that he doesn't really have a DraftExpress bio tells you where his NBA stock stands.

If Hamilton is going to the NBA, I might as well give it a shot too.

I think his game and it's potential is basically set. What makes the decision for him is looking at the draft class for this year compared to the potential class next year and seeing what gives him a better shot. I can't answer that, cause I haven't kept up with it that much.

I'd hate to see him go, but I guess he has to do what he feels is right.

If Hamilton goes pro, that means Anthony Davis falls to #2 and if the Hornets get the #2 pick...

we will be hurting big time if he leaves. our bigs on the current roster with him gone: jobIII,ludwig and tuba

we already needed at least 2 bigs that could come in and at the least contribute this year. If he leaves we will need a more than solid big that can play right away and 2 that can give us minutes in foul trouble situations/ breathers.

This is terrible of me, and I'm assuming it's a basketball player....But when I first read this, my first thought was: "Who?"

Someone has their days mixed up. It is April 2, not April 1. April Fool's Day was YESTERDAY, not today.

I once felt that of all the early entries to the NBA, Hollis Thompson (G-Town) is the one who had the least amount of business entering the pros.

If the rumors are true here, that could change.

Hamilton is cool with going over seas to play. He might give the NBA a shot and if it doesn't work in the NBA go play over sea. He just got engaged so I don't know if that has something to do with it or not. I would be a little surprised if he goes pro right now. His fiance has a job(in BR) and they are set up nice in Baton Rouge. Maybe he will go pro but I will be a little surprised. He is a great guy that will do anything for his friends so I'll support him with whatever decision he makes.

If Hamilton turns pro, Trent Johnson is definitely gone after next year.
