A 13-0 regular season, won the west division and the SEC Championship.
Defeat of the winners of the Music City Bowl, Chick-Fil-A Bowl, Gator Bowl, Rose Bowl, Orange Bowl, Cotton Bowl and the National Champions at their house.
1/9/12 was a disappointment and congratulations to a great Alabama team on playing a thoroughly impressive game. But a season is more than one game, and to discount the body of work created by the blood and sweat of every man on that team by only focusing on the end result of the final game is a disservice to them, to the University, and to every player that came before them.

Impressive.
Historic.
One for the ages.
I'd feel better about it if LSU hadn't been completely dominiated in the BCSCG.

LSU completely dominated Florida, Auburn, Arkansas, Georgia, etc etc. And got dominated once.
Sometimes that happens in football, and it tends to happen more often when really good teams play each other multiple times. That is why the rematch sucked in the first place.

Everybody knows that Miles proved the haters wrong this year.
Everybody also knows what they saw Jan 9th. Miles did this to himself.

I couldn't agree more. The people doing the bashing are acting like spoiled kids that didn't get their way. Last time I checked a 13-1 season and a SEC chapionship was a great season. i am disapointed we didn'y win it all, but some times thats the way it goes.

WOW

you really believe it was him by himself that caused the poor play of the team? like they had nothing to do with it? just WOW.
don't include me in your "everybody" statement, because everybody doesn't feel the way you and some others do, it's clear you don't know the meaning of "team"

No. It's not that we lost. It's that we had a terrible gameplan, that Miles stupidly and stubbornly stuck with JJ, and that he seemed to quit without even trying anything different.

It's not sticking with your favorite player even when he is so blatantly hurting the team. I know that much.

National Championship lost 21-0.

I would like to add:
In April, 2011, while CLM was on a recruiting and alumni fund raising trip, his sister, Ann Hope Browne, was tragically killed in a car accident outside Port Allen, leaving a 22 & 18 year old child as orphans with no means of support. Coach Miles flew home, took 2 more days to bury his sister and see to starting help for his nieces and then he left to continue with his LSU coaching duties never missing a beat or saying a public word. God knows what he did with his grief!
At the end of August, just before leaving for Oregon for one of the 2 biggest games of the season, LSU's already fragile offense was struck by Josh Dworaczyk, a hugely key player, being injured, requiring surgery and declared out for the whole season. This along with the shockingly sad news that Coach Kragthorpe had been diagnosed with Parkinsons disease and decisions would have to be made about him resigning and who would replace him. CLM and the staff managed to come up with a positive working system that incorporated keeping these men involved with Coach Studrawa also without missing a beat.
Then...there was the curfew breaking by over half the team that occurred with the Oregon game just days away, and the circumstances of the Shady's Bar fight, apparently unsubstantiated accusations made against JJ & JJ and arrests and media sideshow that had to be dealt with. Not to mention redeveloping the game plans to incorporate JL's talents.
There is also the fact that CLM has a wife and 4 children and a personal life with them that he has made every effort to keep as a priority along with all his coaching, recruiting, fund raising, and team managing duties.
AND he still managed to lead the team to being undefeated in the regular season, beating Bama 2 years in a row, and one on their home turf, winning the SEC Championship and faced with the challenge of having to play Bama a second time for the NC,... PLUS all the other highlights listed in the original post!!
I know I could not carry all this load and expectations without some mis-steps and neither could any of you who hold Miles in such contempt and are demanding your pound of his flesh. He owes the fans nothing more right now on last year! BUT the fans sure owe him a lot more understanding, support, praise and "slack cutting"!

Means nothing. We want blood!
Seriously, I'm not an apologist, but I think we're past the point of addressing the problems and now appear loony.

He also has 2nd highest graduation rate in SEC but hey what does any of that matter here. We lost one game.
