I know three go to places in BR are Matherne's, Calandro's (sp?), and Whole Foods. Which of those 3 have the best selection? Are there any other good places?

Also, what are some good places to buy in Shreveport? Any good grocery stores or liquor stores?

good luck. best bets are:

World Market
Cuban Liquor
Wine Country
Thrifty Liquor
Cush's Grocery

I think Wine Country has the best selection of craft beers.

Yeah, I've been to Shreveport before and find it's hard to find good beers. Am I just not looking in the right places or is it just a shitty beer town? I figured with it being a decent size and not far from Dallas it might get some decent beers.

it's a pretty shitty beer town. if you're looking for a decent selection outside of retail, check out The Real Pickle or Strange Brew. still, there's really nowhere as good Chimes or Bulldog in Shreveport/Bossier.

Yeah I really mean stores where to buy beer, not really restaurants. I've been to Noble Savage and The Real Pickle. I enjoyed both of those.

We really don't need to turn this into a pissing contest. I was just asking about beer.

Shreveport isn't that bad.

Compared to Texas, no. Compared to South Louisiana, yes it is.
