Hickey looks like a steal. I know Kentucky fans said that they wished they would have had a scholarship for him, and I really didn't believe them at first, but after seeing him, they weren't lying. The guy could be our first true point guard, with scoring potential, in my lifetime.
O'Bryant doesn't have the explosion under the rim, but he has very good ball skills for a big man. Got winded as the game wore on, but his upside is great. Going to be one of our best players this year IMO.
And Isaac is a guy most didn't think would do much because he played at Pickering (even though they were one of the best teams in 2A) and because he missed his entire junior year when players can really get ranked high. But he has all the tools and showed us that he can pretty much do everything on the court. Nice stroke too.

i didn't get to see much of the 2nd half but o'bryant set the tone early. had a couple blocks and about 3 offensive boards and made his first 3 or 4 shots. shot with a nice touch and rebounded the ball well.
hickey's on ball d was fantastic. he hit his first 3 three point shots and looked comfortable. i was surprised he got the start but i figured he'd play lots of minutes either way.

O'bRYANT REMINDS ME A LITTLE OF BIG BABY. GOOD HANDS, PLAYS BELOW THE RIM BUT GETS IT DONE. I THINK HE IS GOING TO BE A GOOD ONE!

Good stuff. Thanks. Can't wait to see them play.
Man oh man have we needed a PG forever.

Hickey is extremely fast

Love Hickey. Great ball skills, can actually navigate in traffic with a decent shot that you have to respect. Looks like a heady player also. He is what this team has been needing for a while.
JOBIII has good ball skills, could use a little more polish around the rim. Doesn't have great explosiveness but I think he will be able to throw it down given the opportunity unlike big baby.
As a whole we are depper and have many more potential scorers than the past couple seasons.

so 8-8 in SEC play is a reasonable expectation?

I would say so. Defense needs to pick up

Well yeah, but they looked athletic on the perimeter, which is more than we can say about this team last year. And we'll be far better defensively in the post by adding two big bodies.

Kevin Ford just announced that Hickey was awarded Player of the game! Team high 14 points, with 3 rebounds, 5 assist, 4 steals, 4 turnovers.

How did Ludwig do? Was he playing the 3?

He actually nailed a three at one point. Didn't do much outside of that but had some decent minutes.

Ludwig also had a put back off of someone else's missed shot.
Hickey looks legit.
O'Bryant plays closer to the floor more than I expected but, he and Hamilton both have skills on offense that Storm and White don't possess.
the little I saw of Isaac was very good. He didn't play AAU therefore wasn't as highly touted as he would have been otherwise.
Last yrs frosh look much improved also

My thought on him when LSU first started recruiting him was "gym rat". I am so glad to hear he played the good, all-around game he did today. Hope he keeps it up against better teams.
