Never attempt to do something technical that requires thought, planning and common sense on a Friday night after a long, exhausting week.
I reached a new height of personal stupidity tonight... So I'm pressure washing the boat since it has been sitting out and I never pt the cover on the last time I used it. Well there's a low spot in the floor that always pools water and never allows it to drain. So in a flash of brilliance I go and grab the drill and proceed to drill a small hole in the floor at the lowest spot. In theory, this would allow water to drain into the bilge and out the drain hole. Great idea, right? It would have been had the fuel tank not been in the way. I drilled the hole and instead of water draining there's now gas spewing up out of the hole. To add to my stupidity, I KNEW that the fuel tank was under the floor on that side of the boat. It just never clicked in my brain tonight while I was doing this. Who wants to come kick me in the arse a few times? Might knock some sense into me!

I really hate to laugh about it, but damn, it sure is nice to know you're not alone. What a comfort to know there are other occasional dumbasses just like you.
I know you are bumming.

Hey, when enough gas runs out water will begin to drain out of the floor into the gas tank. Problem solved!

oh hell just take an angle grinder cut a big square hole slap some hinges on the piece you cut out and a latch plug the gas tank, now you have a access cover to your hole in your gas tank.

With gas prices like they are, you might not notice. Oh, and God still wants you down here for some reason, that could have been one nice ball of fire.

Don't think grinding next to the FUEL would be a good idea. Luckily, you didn't send a spark off the drill

Sounds like all the water that is now in the tank will keep the flames at a minimum.

This made me laugh. Before it's all said and done he's gonna need a screen door and some of that rubber spray shite from TV!
Don't mean to laugh at your f'd up situation, bro. At times like this it's all you have left!
