saying to give JJ a break because he is only a sophomore. Here's the deal. I pull for the kid. I really do. I always have. I pull for any LSU QB. But I am sick and tired of the "well he's young and learning" comments. There are plenty of young QB's that are playmakers and make things happen while making dumb mistakes. JJ is not a playmaker. Bottom line. I hate to be that way, but it's the truth.

As all tiger fans will realize, he just isn't a playmaker. I'm sure JJ is a very nice person and quite the athlete. But when you have a playmaker at QB, it changes everything. Mediocre teams can be carried by one position. QB. Horrible teams can be carried by one position. QB. And good teams (which is what we have) can be elevated to untouchable status by one position. QB. JJ is not the answer. It's time to give the even younger QB's a look because we all know that Lee isn't the answer either.

Have you watched the games? Although I'd like to see RS get some snaps, but they can't even get him ready for that..see the Ga game. RS as the full time starter vs Florida would have been a disaster and I'm big on his potential.

JJ is guy with a ton of RAW talent. He does not have the ability of mind to go any further. I really feel sorry for the kid but it's just the truth.

But what I give a damn about is LSU. Get the kid out of there and put jl and rs and for god's sake Randle.

Now let's get this shite striaght and

JJ should only be running the spread...if you are going to run power and play action off of it JL needs to be in the game.

I dont understand why you guys are bashing the post so much. Do you people really feel that Jefferson is the right qb for this team. At this point I dont feel that we have anyone better but he seems to be a less athletic version of Jamarcus Russel. He often looks confused right before the snap , he cant run the option to save his life and he takes way to many sacks. I know the O line has been terrible but you can not take that many sacks, you have to throw it away. I see there being one qb on the LSU roster with a real chance to shine and he probably wont see the field for 3 years and that is Chris Garett.

Miles always plays it safe, it's cost LSU at least one game since he's been here.

I know I answered my question, right now we have no one better but dont try to defend Jefferson like he is playing well. And as far as he is only a sophmore comments it is BS. Tebow won a championship as a Sophmore.

I am not too fond of this QB arguments every time either but I don't see why his 15 posts count should make a difference - he just gave his opinion.

But going back to his topic -

Terrelle Pryor is about 20 now and has played last year when he was a freshman as well. I realize that OL/playcalling/opposition makes a big difference but still he has been able to take over the reins. Similarly with the VT qb.

While JJ may have the potential to be a playmaker - we have seen that he is not one NOW. So are we placing too much pressure on the kid by expecting him to be something greater than he is?

My point exactly. He also didn't have the receivers we have. Someone was dogging me about my definition of a playmaker. In the dictionary, an example of a playmaker would be Tim Tebow.

Several callers on the post-game radio show brought this up and I believe that Gordy and Charles discussed it as well. Before the season began, we all thought that all JJ would have to do is manage the offense until he got more comfortable, and not make stupid mistakes that would cause us to lose games. Unfortunately, he doesn't have that luxury anymore, because the rest of the offense isn't able to carry him, so to speak. LSU needs a QB who can step up and make plays....they need him to lead the team on scoring drives. Being a game manager isn't good enough against the teams LSU will be playing from here on out.

I'm not calling for him to be replaced, but I'm starting to wonder if he's reached the limit of what he can do at this point. If that's the case, then Miles MUST do something about it. What harm is there in putting JL or RS into the game for a series here and there, just to keep the defense honest and shake things up? What JJ is currently doing is not going to be enough to beat Auburn, Bama, or Ole Miss. If it's true that the coaches are handcuffing him, then let him loose to see what he can do. If he can't cut it, then open up the QB spot for competition again.

If Jefferson can not take the pressure then he should not have come to one of the top schools in the country to be the starting qb. Harris the qb from Miami is the same age and int he same class. He has not struggled, he looks like a stud. You can only defend a player so long. Its kind of like the "wait until Miles breaks out the playboo", people need to realize it is just not there.
