I think he can. I think he has the instincts. He isn't as talented as Jamarcus, but I think he can be pretty special-perhaps top 5.

be carefull with an answer like that. You will probably be labeled a hater of Jarret Lee with no knowledge of football by some on this board.

If he plays as good as Tyler, LSU will be very good!

It's way too soon to think about JJ being "one of the greats", but I think that freshman QB's that have started at LSU have generally turned out pretty well: Herb Tyler & Tommy Hodson come to mind...Have there been others?

I think he has a good chance, even though he is still a little raw, he shows he has an good understanding of the game. This season will tell us alot about jj.

He better hope he lives off his hype from GT and spring game... if not many LSU fans may committ suicide, which actually wouldnt be a bad thing

No. He isn't white enough to be a great QB.

HE'S MUCH BETTER THEN HERB TYLER. TYLER WAS 5-11
JJ 6-4 AND THROWS MUCH BETTER.

To be honest I think this year will be all about how well Crowton can hide JJ's weaker points. I expect him to develop into a great player. I just don't expect him to have a complete game as early as this season.

That being said he has a good enough arm to push the ball down the field and he is a good enough athlete to give us an option in the run game while the rest of his game develops.

I expect him to be really polished by his junior season. All he's lacking is experience IMO.

Throwing the ball end zone to end zone makes you the best thing since sliced bread with some. I think JJ has more potential than JR but only another season or two will tell the tale.
