Strictly between the 2 you mentioned, the Zeiss is the obvious choice. Not even a contest.

Brothers got a VX1 and I have a Prostaff. Leupolds lowest class and Nikons mid level class.
The rifleman is lower quality than the VXI when it comes to leupolds.

Thanks man! I've been reading that the Conquest blows leupolds out of the water.
No. And I have both. The vx2 and the conquest are actually pretty close though.

There are just so many different models and tiers. Nobody is compsring apples to apples. What one person thinks is par, the next sees completely different.

Look at Steiner too. That reentered the U.S. market, and they have been received great reviews. My next purchase.

I just replied in the other thread. Ima keep all future post here. My next high dollar glass will be a S&B though. I do need a small 1x4 or so though. Looking at Leupold and Vortex for that.

I think everyone here would serve themselves well by giving the Sightron S II or III a try. Excellent glass.
Eta: the S I I have on my 7-08 Axis is better than any Monarch I've owned. It's $100. Not in the price range of the OP's inquiry, I know. Just sayin...

One hundred.
I couldn't be more pleased with that rig. Performs really well in low light.
My BIL has a Zeiss Conquest. We put them side by side last year at dusk.
He couldn't put it down. I could tell he was pissed I spent 1/4 what he did and had similar performance. The Zeiss is a bit crisper image but I'm pleased with mine. To each his own though. Some guys just feel the need to spend $$$$ on glass and everything else is shite.
