You sound like you want to be traditional, but thinking you physically can't in the short term.
I would find a used Matthews so you can benefit with the cams and 80%. You will still be able to kill at 55 lbs until you can't climb the stand anymore.

I decided to do both. Hopped around a few pawn shops this AM and grabbed a sweet already rigged out Xbow for $175 and at another shop snagged a Hoyt bow for $150 that felt just like my old bow when I pulled it back.
I'll give my old bow to my oldest boy to fix if he wants it.
