There are some people there Id rather not deal with. But they have some good guys there as well.

I bought a yxz1000r from Robbie a few weeks ago and guy was top notch.

On my 2nd Honda 500 Rubicon. The current one is 12 years old with Hondamatic tranny. Use it in rice fields, marsh, and up in the mountains in Colorado elk hunting. Have a trailer that I use to carry 4-5 people + decoys, guns, etc... out into fields and into our hunting property down muddy roads during the season. Use same trailer to carry a yard+ of soil/sand/sand and 3 yards of mulch around 2 acres at my house. Honda engine and transmission is a workhorse. When I have a heavy load I tend to go into manual select mode. I have replaced speed sensor twice and a couple of other minor sensors that gave an error code but have never been stranded... not once. My next ATV will be a Honda. Tops out at around 38-39 but it isn't designed to be fast, That's my experience.

Sounds like you didnt get the jets clean or you have the idle screw in to much and its running to lean. Probably the jets, any little bit of varnish will make it run lean and not idle right, run lean and backfire when you let off throttle or not run without choke. Easiest way to clean is to use an ultrasonic cleaner if you have one.

I have a 300. I've had a few 300s. I mean the 420. The 300s have issues with the transfer case leaking oil, the rear brake drum filling with water and then flowing through the rear axle into the rear diff, and the front diff was undersized for even the 12 hp the motor was making.

The engine itself was astounding, but those few defects were fixed on the 420. I've seen them with 15k plus miles of hard use.

They are a good bike.

If I said what I thought was the best bike ever built by any manufacturer, y'all would run me out of here.

Well, I love my '07 Yamaha Big Bear 400.

That first gear is some kinda low.
