Saw one on a recent trip to DI on a dock and the was a wad of fish under that dude about 8' wide that something big as hell would blow up about every 5 min.
What can a baw catch using one of these here gadgets in the bay?

THere was a wad of fish, I'm assuming some sort of bait fish swimming in about an 8' wide circle under the light.
Something very large would blow the water up about every five minutes. I have no clue what it was because it was about 3 houses up from where I was staying.

I don't know about Louisiana, but here in Florida, those lights are everywhere. The trick is to keep your lure or bait on the outskirts of the visible light.
Normally, I'll try to keep it about 10ft outside of the edge of the lit up water.

I fish the hell out of them here in MS. Catch big trout fishing the edges of the lights in early spring, while they are transitioning out. Reds and smaller trout year round. Gotta be quiet and I like to use light line and a 1/8 oz jig head and clear plastic. Kayak works great to sneak up to them.

Out on Lake St. Catherine under the lights there are always some big arse garfish lurking that get crazy every so often

I agree, 9/10 chance it was a gar. They really like the bugs that lights bring.

Edge of the light is key, especially if the water is clear, the fish will inspect the hell out of a bait passing through the middle...
