My neighbors son left his ten-point bow cocked all off season. He shot a bolt out of it, however it will not crank all the way back to cock again. It gets to a certain point then will not draw all the way.
It’s like the cams will not rotate anymore.
It’s nitro nrt
Any ideas?

At least he's actually mentally handicapped.

Crossbow, approved.

i dont know anything about bows but i would suspect it may have stretched the string just enough so it no longer reaches the locking point.

i assume you already checked all moving parts are secure and working correctly.

That’s a pretty common issue with the Nitro. It has to do with the design of the cams and the angle of the limbs relative to the string and cables, they’re prone to developing a situation where the travel is limited. The best way to fix it is to take 4-6 grams of meth and grind it to a fine powder, sprinkle that all around the cam bearings, and then go out with a Q-beam shoot it at night until it’s broken back in.

Needs to bring it to an archery shop.

Trying to work on a bow without proper tools, meaning a bow press, can result in a finger munching disaster with cracked limbs, bent cams, bleeding fingers.

Make sure the cocking rope is in the correct configuration.
