Would you bring a bay boat in any of the lakes around Cenla?

I have a 19ft nauticstar, and I am thinking about fishing around cenla tomorrow. (I have a wedding tomorrow evening so don't want to go too far; otherwise I'd head down to Big Lake.) I have already put my boat in Cane River with no problems, but I just don't really have the confidence in that lake. Right now I'm thinking about putting in on the Red at Montgomery and fishing around the oxbows there. Is my boat a tad too deep for Saline? Normally I would fish my 17ft aluminum boat around here, but it is out of commission right now. I'm stuck with the bay boat. Any suggestions?

Not to be a smartass here, as a prospective boat owner I’m genuinely curious what it is you’re worried about. Wouldn’t your boat have an 11-12” draft?

I just looked at their website and it says the 19' bayboat drafts 11" of water. I would feel pretty comfortable taking it to most lakes in Louisiana.

It drafts right at a foot, but I guess I get a little worried with all of the cypress knees in the lakes around my area. I sort of baby my boat because I am terrified of maintenance.

A lot of us fish the Saline Larto complex in aluminum bay boats. Just be careful, sally.

Saline lake? I'd put it in at Keyhole. Salvania is terrible Midland and you won t get to fish too much. You can fish red river with no issues at all. Black lake you can do as well just stay in the open and only run the channel

We took the old Xpress into Saline with no issues. I your boat should be fine. Put in at Woodson's and you don't have to worry about those shitty roads.

If you go to Montgomery, be careful as you are heading out of the oxbow into the main river. The right side of that entrance can get shallow.

Why don't you head to Toledo?

I have a 22.5 ft Sea Fix with a 225 on it. I have put it in all the lakes in N Louisiana, no problems at all.

Why would it be any different than a 19 ft fiberglass bass boat?

You are way over thinking this.

I see them on D'arbonne quite often.

There were two old turds who used to win a lot of bass tournaments out of a center console a few years back
