Looking for someone to rebuild/upgrade a deck at my camp on the island. Not a large project, but could lead to more work. Also looking for someone to trim palm trees. Only have 5-6 palms so would rather avoid having to rent a man lift just for these trees.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Lee Townsend for the deck work. He re-built our wharf deck for us last fall and did a great job. Number 985-665-5834.

Billy Ramagosa. He has done a lot of work for myself and others in our little neighborhood. He can fix about anything. It is just done on island time. ?(985) 278-8483?

How tall are your palm trees? You can't use an extendable pole saw for them? a short ladder and a pole saw and you can cut almost any palm tree except the very tallest. Pretty quickly with a fresh blade. You can get a pole saw for like $30-40.

Thanks for all of the replies. The palms are 30-40' tall. I have a pole saw but have gotten too tall. Am thinking I may just rent a man lift for the day.

Just a heads up, just trimming the palm tree, you should be ok, but you may want to check with Ray Santiny at Town Hall. If you wanted to cut down, you will certainly need town council approval. I was at a Town Council meeting a couple of weeks ago for a client, and several such requests were before the council, including trimming. I was somewhat incredulous, and checked the town code of ordinances. Sure enough, they consider the oaks and palms as essential for the environment and protection of the Island, and Town Council approval is certainly necessary to cut down.
