Woodworkers- question about bugs in reclaimed lumber

I bought some antique cypress to make some shelves. Turns out it was home to quite a few carpenter bees. Anybody have any experience on how to make sure bugs, especially these bees, are dead before using.
From what I have read right now they probably already have eggs laid that will hatch and release more bees eventually. At this point I’m planning on getting rid of the boards and getting new wood unless I can be assured these things are dead. Already have quite a few flying around the house but hopefully killed them all. Thanks

Skeet some wasp spray in the holes. Problem solved

I’m not sure about killing the bees but i have seen a full set of high end cabinets built from carpenter bee infested wood. They sawed the boards in half and made the cabinet doors with the bookmatched inside faces turned out to show the tunnels. They were built by a master woodworker and were amazing.

Just spray a little Bengal roach spray in the holes...it is non-greasy and will kill the shite out of them I certainly wouldn't throw the wood away...

Considered spraying but didn’t mention I have already plugged most of the holes that were going to be on the top side of the shelves so we would have a smooth surface for plates and such - they are going to be functional shelves in kitchen. So I don’t think I could get to all of them now. Not throwing wood away anyway. I have it bagged up in heavy duty garbage bags and can save for another project when I’m sure these bastards are dead.
